The Operations risk leader will: -Promote an internal control culture that encourages identification and management of risks through the establishment of operational risk management standards, surveillance, tools and reporting. -Enhance the Firms understanding of risk through leading the development of an operational risk measurement methodology encompassing operational risk event capture, key risk indicators, key risk scenarios, operational risk capital calculations and allocation. -Contribute to the minimization and efficient use of economic and regulatory capital in line with the Advanced Measurement Approach (Basel II) and thereby maximizing return on capital and -Manage across key risk indicators like audit, surveillance, complaints and sharing best practice.Key Duties -Support the implementation of the Wealth management Operational Risk Management framework within the America’s region, delivering business ownership and transparency across the identification, mitigation, monitoring and control of operational risk in a proactive and reactive fashion. -Implement an front-to-back Risk and Control Assessment program across the business , ensuring the business encompasses a framework which aims to identify key business risks, mitigating controls and how effective implemented controls are. -Identify ineffective control areas and devise and implement concurrent solutions -Drive the Risk Event process which includes Risk Event tracking, loss reconciliation and provisioning, capture within the central Risk tool (OPUS) and fulfilling reporting requirements -Take a key role in all audit related activity from agreeing scope and audit protocols to developing remedial plans to ensuring observations closed by the business are ready for issue assurance -Develop and deliver a program of proactive and reactive control testing, applying audit-level quality of detail and scope -Ensure consistent application of the risk and control framework and any remediation across all branches -Provide relationship support to managers and senior leaders in various businesses on a full range of operational risk issues -Deliver ORM related management information, reporting and committee administration QUALIFICATIONS Mandatory Minimum Qualifications - Must Have: - 8-12 years experience in operational risk management covering more than one of the following business activities: audit management, risk and control assessment, risk reporting, incident management and testing control effectiveness -Knowledge of financial services industry, with a focus on wealth management preferable -Exposure to broker-dealer operations and the ability to identify potential weaknesses in the control environment Education: Bachelors Certifications: None Licenses: None Total Years of Experience: 9-10 Years of Experience in Present Position: 1-2
