Vice President of Finance (Non-profit experience required)
The Vice President of Finance is responsible for all financial matters of The Arc of San Diego. The Vice President of Finance will report to and work closely with the President/CEO. In addition, s/he will partner with the senior leadership team and the Board of Directors to develop and implement strategies across the organization. The Vice President of Finance will oversee all compliance and recognition for government (federal and state) contracts and private grants. S/he must be able to adapt to a continually evolving environment and thrive in an autonomous and deadline-oriented workplace while managing a finance staff of six.
The qualified candidate will possess a Bachelors Degree from an accredited college/university in related field; with 10+ years of broad finance experience, CPA and/or MBA is strongly preferred. S/he will ideally have experience managing finance (accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting) for a complex nonprofit with multiple funding sources. Proficient in MS Office, Ceridian and financial applications (Blackbaud experience is a plus); experience with software conversions leading up to enterprise level is a plus.
Candidate must have solid experience with a nonprofit organization managing a budget of at least $20 million.
Must be able to demonstrate excellent leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills. In addition to, exceptional analytical and abstract reasoning skills. Must have a strong understanding of Medicare reimbursement principles, and a demonstrated ability to use that understanding to maximize revenue. Established relationship with San Diego Regional Center is a plus.
