GAAP Accounting Manager

Our client, a growing Property and Casualty insurance company is looking to hire a manager of Accounting with strong GAAP experience.  Responsibilities will include:

• Coordinate the monthly and quarterly GAAP income statement and balance sheet closing processes, to provide consolidated GAAP financial statements according to U.S. GAAP standards and to the accounting policies and procedures; provide analysis and support as required in SEC disclosure format.
• Become proficient in the use of our reporting package in order to be able to record entries, produce monthly and quarterly reports, and develop ad hoc reports as required.
• Research GAAP literature relating to accounting inquiries and provide documentation of accounting transactions.
• Provide information to internal and external auditors for sign-off on financial statements.
• Reconcile assigned accounts and maintain accurate accounting records, general ledger, and trial balance for U.S. companies.
• Assist in providing monthly management reporting for multiple product lines, locations and markets.
• Maintain compliance with established SOX controls.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. 
• 3-5 plus years accounting experience with evidence of increasing responsibilities in Accounting and/or Auditing. 
• Insurance accounting background strongly preferred. 
• Experience in dealing with internal and external auditors
• Experience with U.S. GAAP reporting and disclosure requirements.
• Accounting certification (CA, CPA or CMA) strongly desired.
