Corporate Controller
An industry-leading Cincinnati organization is seeking a Corporate Controller to fill a key role within this growing organization. This individual will report directly to the CFO and will manage the corporate accounting department through monthly, quarterly, and annual financial processes/procedures. Controller will compile financial statements for external reporting in accordance with financial reporting guidelines such as SEC, GAAP, and SOX.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Prepare or direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets and/or reports required by regulatory agencies and/or ownership.
· Strong communication skills essential. Controller would be expected to communicate directly with senior management and the Board of Directors.
· Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to SEC and GAAP regulatory compliance.
· Review general ledger account reconciliations monthly to ensure the financial are properly stated in accordance with GAAP.
· Responsible for staff development, evaluations, positive feedback, discipline, and on-going coaching ensuring activities are performed within department and company policy.
· Plan the monthly financial close process and coordinate schedules to assist the external auditors with quarterly reviews and annual financial statement audits.
· Serve as primary contact for external auditors to obtain documentation and provide assistance for quarterly reviews and annual audit.
Qualifications/Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance. CPA required, MBA a plus.
· 10 - 15 years Accounting/Finance related experience.
· Previous SEC experience required..
· Financial reporting experience and strong supervisory experience.
· 5+ years experience as a controller or similar Accounting management role.
· Successful candidate should have leadership qualities enabling him/her to create a highly functioning financial support group
