Great growth potential.   Job Description: Job Description: Manager of the overall loan accounting activities for a $2B small balance loan portfolio with a mix of SBA and conventional loans. Responsible for the monthly accounting cycle related to the loans in this portfolio including closing the books (including journal entries and reconciliations), preparing a variety of mandated monthly reports and analyses for internal management and external constituents. Regular interaction with other members of the management team and occasional interaction with borrowers and the SBA. Position reports to the Head of Special Servicing and supervises approximately 7 staff members.   QUALIFICATIONS Mandatory Minimum Qualifications - Must Have: Work Experience: • General accounting and finance – in either corporate and/or division operations • Specific experience in loan accounting with some kind of a lender or financial institution, preferably with mortgage activities • Strong understanding of the overall lending life cycle – from origination to liquidation and close-out • Ideally experience with SBA lending and the associated systems • An understanding of securitizations and the associated accounting • Must have 3-4 years of management/supervisory experience Other Key Activities: • Deep analytical skills • Very strong Excel and reporting abilities (data extracts, look up tables, etc.) • Deadline focused • Ability to manage a monthly closing process Personal Qualities: • Good manager, communicator and motivator of people • Ability to revamp current processes with an eye towards speed and cost effectiveness • Ability to work in the gray zone and to help develop a path forward in a new organization • Willingness to travel regionally and to roll-up their sleeves at the same time as managing Software: • Solomon • Excel • Other Microsoft Office Suite • SBA – Loan Manager   Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years SBA lending experience, Strong Excel and management skills.   Education: Bachelors   Certifications: Certified Public Accountant   Licenses: None   Total Years of Experience: 7-8   Years of Experience in Present Position: 16+
