The Consumer & Online (C&O) Finance team is seeking a highly motivated individual to be the Financial Controller. You will be responsible for managing and optimizing across four key areas: 1) Financial Processes of this worldwide business, including budgeting, forecasting, and the monthly business reviews; 2) Management Reporting; 3) Accounting, Controls, Governance and Policy; and 4) Financial controllership for the C&O headquarters team. You will be expected to build strong relationships with the C&O senior leadership team and become a trusted advisor across the areas described above. You will lead a team of finance professionals in supporting the field controller community with standardized processes, reporting and policies, and also in delivering management reporting and periodic business reviews. You will be an active member of the C&O Finance leadership team, providing input on strategic direction of the business model and the financial support of this business.
The successful candidate should demonstrate a proven track record of business partnering, managing a team, a high degree of executive maturity, the ability to influence others, experience managing through a tough economic environment, successful execution of change management initiatives, exceptional collaboration and a keen understanding of how to drive results.
Key responsibilities include:
• Lead the business planning, budgeting, forecasting and accounting close processes on a WW basis. Add value through optimizing the processes, focusing on eliminating unnecessary work and improving accuracy.
• Drive the development and execution of financial reporting to facilitate continued improvement of the financial results, with an emphasis on business insight and early detection of trends. Deliverables include weekly and monthly executive flashes and reports, monthly business reviews, and quarterly and annual reviews with the C&O Corporate VP and the CFO of Sales, Marketing and Services Group (SMSG). An important area of focus will be to develop and implement standard reports for C&O subsidiaries. Partner effectively with systems organizations responsible for producing reports.
• Manage Financial Accounting, Controls, Governance and Policy in partnership with financial controllership teams in the Business Groups and SMSG. Implement appropriate levels of controls to maintain and limit risk and exposure ensure the integrity of transactions in all facets of the business cycle. Introduce or update accounting, controls and other business policies as appropriate. Ensure broad awareness and compliance to corporate policies and controls.
• Develop and coach a high-performing field finance organization where team and personal goals are met.
• Build strong relationships through business partnering skills and written/oral communication. Become a trusted business advisor to the C&O leadership team.
• Significant interaction with field-based finance and business leaders.
• Be an active part of the C&O Finance leadership team. Provide input on priorities, career development and the current and future role of field finance.
• Lead and deliver insightful analysis that measures performance vs. expectations and enables business leaders to make good decisions. Drive the use of financial and economic data and metrics to determine present and future business opportunities.
Requirements/Qualifications:
• College / university degree required
• MBA and/or CPA preferred
• 10+ years of demonstrated work experience in financial analysis and/or controllership, business analysis and planning
• Proven experience managing teams of people (direct and dotted line) including recruiting, performance evaluation, development, and succession planning.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills. Open, confident communicator effective in senior levels of engagement
• Exceptional executive maturity and a proven track record of executive-level cross-boundary collaboration
• Strong analytical skills with Excel required and skilled in other MS desktop apps
• A strong influencer across teams and organizations. Proven success in leading and participating in cross-functional teams to deliver on key projects
• Balance of technical and business acumen
• Demonstrated track record of exceeded established goals on a consistent basis
• Online industry experience a plus
