A fundamental long / short hedge fund in Boston is looking for sector specific a Portfolio Manager who has decision making responsibility on a portfolio. Looking for an accomplished PM to provide a relatively low risk path to running his or her own asset management business. The Portfolio Manager will executive long / short equity strategy on the firm’s platform. Will also focus on sector specific (Energy or Industrials) long / short selection. Must have verifiable performance where the PM had full discretion; Monthly data would be available to analyze the correlations to current investments and return/risk. The Portfolio Manager will leverage infrastructure to provide the systems and operational support for trading, settling, monitoring positions and risk.

Candidate must have the following qualifications for consideration:

• 2+ years experience as an equity long / short portfolio manager with a profitable verifiable track record


• Experience with portfolio construction and risk management


• Familiarity with hedge fund industry practices


• Entrepreneurial, highly self-motivated and detail-oriented


• Liquid instruments only; will not consider strategies that invest in private equity, exotic derivatives and loans

Salary will be a competitive payout based on performance
