- Managing and improving the consolidation process as it relates to Legal, Management, Plan and Tax functions. Includes maintenance of multiple structures, analysis of consolidated data and the processing of application and software updates. Includes related consolidated eliminations, reserves, adjustments and also providing explanation and analysis to management and external auditors.
- Issuance of consolidated reports for Management and the outside auditors. Includes monthly financial analysis and review of holding company reporting.
- Analysis includes review of acquisition and disposition workbooks, investments, and balance sheets.
- Compliance with mandatory Government reporting requirements at the consolidated level, including potential acquisition related filings.
- Coordination and supervision of internal and external staff on the US GAAP reporting of Non-US Holding Companies.
- Coordinating, documenting and updating the consolidation and financial reporting system with an emphasis upon improvements to the overall efficiency and accuracy of the process. Includes recommending application changes, application overview for functionality, application testing, and maintenance of all databases.
- Maintain cognizance of business and economic conditions and government regulations of financial interest to corporate and operating companies.
- Participating in the year-end closing process for internal and external financial reporting. Includes review of annual report financials and related footnote disclosures, in conjunction with the Director of Financial Reporting.
- Formulation of accounting policies and procedures to ensure the financial statements are in conformity with GAAP in conjunction with the Director of Financial Reporting.
- Work with tax department on annual reconciliation of Book to Tax adjustments on consolidated federal return.
- Completing special projects as required. Projects can include restating financials changes in accounting pronouncements or for discontinued operations, legal reorganization reporting & coordination, training of staff on process improvement on end of month reporting, and analysis of country specific information.
Minimum qualifications:
- 8+ years in both Public Accounting and private industry with evidence of expanding responsibilities.
- Superior written and oral communication skills coupled with ability to manage complex projects.
- Strong technical accounting, financial and analytic skills and the ability to make sound business decisions. Knowledge and experience with financial software and systems is required.
- Energetic, hands-on attitude toward projects, people and overall job responsibilities that translates into improvements in the overall Finance function.
