VP of Reporting

Our client is a leader in the Insurance industry headquartered in New York City  and they are looking for a VP of GAAP reporting.  The candidate will be a specialist  involved in providing US and International GAAP opinions to front office and finance, researching and advising on impact of structured transactions

Key Responsibilities include:
*Reviewing and analyzing structured transactions, providing opinions on Internal accounting treatment and client accounting treatments
*Identifying and assessing proposed accounting standards and legislation impacting on the business
*Lobbying standard setting bodies , legislators etc
*Liaising with standard setting bodies, industry bodies etc
*Providing a monthly update on accounting developments globally
*Co-ordination of implementation efforts for new accounting standards with the various finance departments, tax, and regulatory
*Presentations/training on US and International GAAP

To be considered for this role, you must possess a CPA and have an expertise in GAAP reporting both domestically and internationally (IFRS).  Big 4 public foundation preferred with insurance industry experience.
