Requirements:
Bachelors degree in business/finance/accounting, an MBA, CFA and/or CPA preferred.
Large Property/Casualty insurance company experience (6 to 10+ years)
Financial planning and forecasting, capital planning and/or business planning experience.
Strong finance/accounting background including experience with P&C insurance company financial statements.
Strong Microsoft skills are required, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation (e.g. pivot tables, vlookup, and macros).
Experience with financial systems/applications such as Cognos, Oracle, SAP, Hyperion, is a plus.
Strong analytical skills are required. Ability to manage multiple activities, to work independently, to produce quality work and to work with a strong sense of urgency. The ability to be a creative problem solver, anticipate problems and opportunities and deliver solutions.
The ability to effectively communicate (verbally and written) with executives.

Description:
Chartis International has an opportunity for a Manager, Long Term Planning and Special Projects in our Finance division.
The key responsibilities for this position are:
Reports to and supports the VP of Chartis Long Term Planning and Special Projects in all multi-year planning, forecasting and reporting of P&L items down to Net Income. Prepare a variety of analytics, reports and executive level presentations as required. Develops and maintains complex Excel and Cognos models used for forecasting, taking into account macroeconomic and production drivers and historic trends and cycles. Automate, improve and institutionalize the forecasting process across Chartis legal entities, regions and divisions.
Complete the development of Chartis long-term, driver based forecast model linking capital, treasury and tax requirements while integrating business and macroeconomic drivers into assumptions. Institutionalize a walk from management results to legal entities to ensure consistency with tax, treasury and capital planning requirements.
Maintain internal capital/ROE models with considerations around investments, reserving, CAT exposure and capital allocations for management reporting purposes.
Support Financial Planning & Analysis on various ad hoc reports and special projects as required, initially including ATLAS, General Insurance Finance Transformation (GI-FT) and AIG/Chartis separation streams.
Extract, gather, compile and organize large amounts of data in required format.
Directly supervise one analyst.
