My client, an International insurance Company with locations throughout the world is seeking their Head of Agency Compliance for North America.
The major responsibility of this position involves ensuring the regulatory compliance for the US Agency business and driving the corporate governance structure of the owned agencies.

•Responsibilities include assisting the CEO – Agencies with managing the relationship between the firm’s property/casualty and health/ stop loss agency subsidiaries and various state insurance departments, providing insurance regulatory and legal guidance to the agency subsidiaries. In addition, this position will ensure that an appropriate compliance scheme and general corporate policies are in place and followed. Others duties will include researching and articulating applicable insurance department regulations, and performing corporate secretarial tasks where necessary, including minuting of meetings and preparation of resolutions.
Specific Responsibilities:
•General compliance research on a national basis, and serving as the firm’s primary compliance contact with the various insurance agencies.
•Providing advice on all regulatory issues the agencies and assistance where necessary with insurance regulatory filings.
•Assisting and providing legal advice on product development initiatives.
•Coordinating the response to market conduct examinations.
•Serving as the primary resource for the interpretation of new and pending insurance regulations respecting the agencies.
•Conducting and assisting on various underwriting and other internal audits, as needed.
•Assisting the agencies in managing the enterprise risk management process and corporate governance.
Required Education &/or Exp
•10-15 years experience working in the insurance intermediary marketplace, whether within a wholesaler, retailer, or broker environment(s).
•Minimum of five years law firm experience as attorney or paralegal.
•Juris Doctorate degree preferred
