The goal of this role is to create and maintain a departmental budget and to ensure compliance with financial targets including preparing monthly budget forecasts and integrating effective financial control processes.To define and manage external spend processes which include vendor management, purchase order, invoicing and accrual processes and to provide guidance on expense management.To undertake due diligence to identify and recommend legal cost saving opportunities for the Function and to refine and maintain cost recharge methodologies for the FunctionTo be the main contact and liaison for Legal for all cost management and control processes. Provide thorough and accurate expense analysis for divisional management reporting Analyze and report on Legal vendor spend; serve as regional point of contact for Legal cost inquiries Run and communicate invoice status and reports to assist staff in identifying items requiring resolution Analyze expense lines globally, keeping abreast of activity, request impacting budget and report commentary on results monthly Partner with Finance to implement efficiencies and improve processes where necessary Communicate and provide support to regional Legal stakeholders on deliverables to improve financial results around legal spend Lead administrative staff in resolution and follow-up of cost processes as they support the legal managers and team Serve as regional approver/business champion on expense items impacting divisional budget Provide day-to-day financial cost support to Legal function Prepare ad-hoc cost reporting and participate in cost projects as required Lead the ongoing data integrity function and analytical review of cost process management primarily around Legal vendor spend. Provide accurate, relevant and timely management information to the Legal support teams and business managers. Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with concentration in Accounting or Finance 3-5 years financial/cost management experience Experience working with expense systems and GL reporting, Keen analytical experience: ability to analyze financial data, spot anomolies and resolve them effectively Ability to work with various stakeholders as they impact the effectiveness of the role Ability to identify savings opportunities; experience with cost management best practices/methodologies Knowledge of Microsoft Access a plus Whats on offer :
