An expanding specialized construction services company seeks an experienced CFO to join its management team.
Reporting to the company President, the Chief Financial Officer will serve as a business partner to the management team and ensure the growth and maintenance of the financial function required to implement the company’s business strategy. This position will have full responsibility for building and managing the financial function and establishing the company’s infrastructure to support its strong current performance and future growth.
This individual will also have responsibility for such functions as tax, accounting, treasury, control and information systems. Areas of responsibility also include cash management, external financial relations, accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, risk management, plus planning and budgeting. Working closely with the President and Board of Directors, the successful candidate will oversee and participate in major projects, information flow, and decision-making to ensure that the business steadily moves forward to meet growth objectives, operational goals and business strategies.
Key responsibilities of this position will include but will not be limited to:
Serve as a key member and thought leader of the management team, providing input and leadership for the company’s overall business strategy.
Continuously improve accounting systems and procedures so that accounting records provide accurate and timely information in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and in compliance with federal & state tax jurisdictions.
Provide the financial format for the annual business planning function, including the selection of financial measurements or “drivers” to be used to evaluate the business’s performance.
Ensure that the necessary information systems are implemented, maintained, and provide accurate and timely reports. Establish and coordinate risk management policies and procedures.
Education: Strong academic credentials. A CPA and/or MBA are strongly desired.
Experience: Minimum 8-10 years experience, including prior experience as a CFO or as a divisional CFO of a portfolio company held by private equity investors.
