Accounting Manager

OPPORTUNITY:  Reporting directly to the Director Corporate Accounting you will be responsible for supervising and overseeing several staff accountants, the monthly close process, GAAP accounting and related reconciliation of accounts to insure their correctness.   You will contribute on public filings, SOX compliance, and review of technical pronouncements to support business evolution and strategies.  You will also assist in adopting best practices to shorten the quarterly and annual closing cycle.  In the works is a software conversion so your system skills will be utilized.

REQUIREMENTS:  Must live in Connecticut.  Must have a BS in Accounting with 7+ years related experience.  Must have Corporate Accounting experience. Must have at least 3 years of supervisory experience with ability to describe your supervisory contributions.  Pluses include (in addition to the Corporate Accounting experience) Big 4, national, or regional CPA firm experience.  Pluses also include CPA (or parts passed) and/or an MBA. Strong Microsoft and Hyperion are also pluses.  Extra credit for knowing, What is the distance around a polygon called, or what TV show did Goldie Hawn make her national debut in?
