Vice President of Finance

GENERAL PURPOSE AND POSITION SUMMARY:

The Vice President of Finance is responsible to direct all finance related functions and departments of The Venetian and The Palazzo Resort Hotel (the “Las Vegas Operating Properties”), including but not limited to: financial planning and analysis (budgeting, forecasting, operational results reviews), cage and count room operations and the overall financial management of the our Las Vegas operations. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian and The Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino’s policies, practices, and procedures.

The ideal candidate for this position will: Develop, evaluate and review operations of departments to ensure they are managed and directed for the purposes of successful attainment of company goals, and the enforcement of departmental policies in accordance with company guidelines. Direct and arrange timeline to complete tasks and department assignments or projects, and meet the deadlines related to those assignments. Evaluate information to render an opinion or take action based on that information that will impact the department or function. Have significant company financial and managerial responsibility for all company resources under direction to include: budget, labor, and material resources.

Possess skills to hasten resolution, assess course of action, and implement or take action based upon findings.

Direct others in completion of a task or assignment. Render advice, and provide expertise or judgment based on information gathered, studied, analyzed or reviewed.

Minimum Employment Requirements:  Must be at least 21 years of age, proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States, possess at least a bachelor’s level college degree in finance or accounting.  MBA is desired. Possess ability to communicate effectively in a positive/upbeat fashion utilizing English, both in oral and written form. Have interpersonal skills with focused attention to guest needs to deal effectively with all business contacts. Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to Company appearance standards. Maintain consistent adherence to the Venetian and Palazzo Unmatched Guest Service Standards.

Specific Position Requirements:

•  10+ years of finance and accounting experience in the gaming industry required.


• At least 5+ years of progressive senior management in the Finance/Accounting areas.


• Certified Public Accountant required.  


• Possess strong financial acumen and bottom-line orientation.


• Must have verifiable success being proactive in responding to changing market factors.


• Must have exceptional intellectual, professional, and interpersonal agility with strong analytical and problem solving skills.


• Excellent leadership capabilities and charisma skills to influence, inspire, and motivate key stakeholders and employees around a single vision.


• Experience with a 4 star/diamond property preferred.


• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate with senior management team within the Las Vegas Operating Properties and Corporate.


• Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment. Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude, and the ability to deal effectively with guests, management, employees and outside contacts.


• Must be able to obtain and maintain gaming registration and an alcohol awareness card.
