Bachelors degree required.
P.C. knowledge and skills including MS Windows and spreadsheets (Excel and/or Lotus) and word processing software (MS Word and/or WordPerfect).
Oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of US tax terminology, concepts, practices and procedures.
Knowledge of accounting terminology, concepts, practices and procedures.
Good understanding of tax accounting rules (FASB 109) and concepts.
Knowledge of operations in the insurance and/or financial services industry.
Financial modeling skills.
Education: Bachelors

Description:
Chartis International has an opportunity for a Tax Manager - US GAAP within its finance division.
As a Tax Manager - US GAAP, your responsibilities will be:
Establish and maintain a tax reporting process including the maintenance of internal controls pursuant to SOX 404, reconciliation of tax accounts, and the implementation of Master Tax Work Books/automated tax reporting package.
Maintain the deferred inventory and evaluate the need for valuation allowances.
Coordinate with regional tax controller on the computation of foreign tax credit capacity.
Prepare the enterprises required tax disclosures both stat and GAAP.
Monitor repatriations and impact on APB 23 assertions and effective tax rate.
Review US estimated tax and extension payments for assigned entities.
Review non-consolidated Federal income tax returns for assign entities.
Contact appropriate tax/accounting staff to discuss the most complex and sophisticated transactions and ensure the tax accounting treatment.
Select, train, and evaluate employees/interns.
Integrate activities of the assigned entities with overall Foreign General Insurance and with other AIG business units.
Work with regional tax controllers to design new work paper templates and implement departmental procedures.
Analyze transactions and federal audit exposures with the legal staff.
Interface with other departments to ensure that the enterprises tax planning strategies are being properly applied and implemented.
Evaluate impact of proposed transactions.
Evaluate potential impact of tax law changes.
