Director, Corporate Development

Expedia, Inc. is looking to add a Director of Corporate Development at its Seattle based corporate headquarters.  The Corporate Development group is responsible for leading Expedias acquisition activity around the globe as well as for driving corporate strategy and strategic planning across its portfolio of leading travel assets.  The group is led by the Senior Vice President of Corporate Development, who reports directly to the CEO of Expedia, Inc.  The Corporate Development group is comprised largely of former consultants, bankers, attorneys and private equity professionals from top tier firms and prides itself on its consistently high standards of performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Working closely with the Senior Vice President in the formulation and execution of Expedias global acquisition strategy:

• Generating acquisition strategies and themes both independently and in coordination with Expedias business unit leaders


• Sourcing and screening potential acquisition targets


• Leading the due diligence and deal execution process, including but not limited to:




• negotiating principal transaction terms


• managing junior team members in financial modeling, valuation analysis as well as company and industry due diligence


• coordinating internal functional experts as well as outside advisors in due diligence, structuring and transaction document negotiations


• Producing investment recommendation materials for review by Expedias board and senior corporate executives

Managing Expedias corporate strategic planning process:

• Working with the CEO, CFO and Senior Vice President to define long range corporate level strategic and financial objectives


• Managing business unit leaders through the development of long range strategic plans
