CFO (CPA)

Are you ready to be a strategic partner yet have be very hands-on?  This opportunity is very unique.  You would be able to a strategic partner to help a non-for-profit international fundraising organization double its efforts over the next five years.  If you are a hands-on CFO/high-level controller who is ready for a new challenge, please read on.

CFO/CPA for both international nonprofit and international Direct Marketing Consulting company located in South San Jose, CA.  Requirements::

CPA certificate and accounting degree are required.  Minimum of  15-20 years Controller/CFO experience is required.  Experience in the NPO or direct marketing arena is highly preferred.  Previous international travel/business experience is highly preferred.  

Ideally, we will find someone in the Bay Area who would come into the office on a regular basis.  Our next option is to find someone on the west coast.  Our third option is someone who can get to CA very easily (one-legged flight).  The CFO will meet with the President in San Jose at least twice per month.

Here is an overview:

Strategic Planning

The CFO will be responsible to create, manage and maintain a dynamic business plan.  Responsible for the necessary corporate and individual meetings to develop the business plan and to identify the business issues that need to be corrected etc.    Responsible to produce the final product and manage the business practices necessary to execute. 

Prepare financial forecasts and budgets that will service the needs of upper management from the President through to the executive team.   As a start up process these reports will be distributed monthly, and will produced as needed according to the management needs of the executive team. 

Will meet with the President of the company at least 1-2 times per month in San Jose to review growth opportunities as well as current state of affairs.

Will travel abroad to review new acquisitions and perform due diligence.

Business Operations

Develop an ongoing system to track marketing results.  It is estimated that the marketing reports will be created to distribute and available on a monthly basis. 

Design and be responsible for the administrative infrastructure, hold the executive team accountable to fulfill the business plan and enhance the structure to match the continued growth of  the Company. 

It is understood that the CFO will create the necessary firewall procedures to insure independence of the independent operations of the Company and any and all other associated clients. 

Provide management services, guidance, and direction for business decisions and operations. 

Determine the reports (contents and frequency necessary to operate the business plan. 

Analytical Review/Monitor and Control

Review, Analyze and Monitor reports from marketing vendors (US and International).  Work with the international accounting firms and coordinate their accounting reports into executive summaries for San Jose management.  Monitor and Analyze Direct Marketing reports.  Monitor and manage actual vs. budget on all management reports. 

This is not fund accounting – this is very much an analytical role where we need a solid numbers person YET one who is strategic to help us grow.

Regulatory Compliance/Governance. 

Ensure fund raising completed is compliant to international standards of accounting.  

Work with US accounting firms to oversee the annual audit review and ensure day-to-day accounting needs are being met.

Travel

We estimate international travel will be about 4 weeks a year.  We estimate domestic travel to be 2 weeks a year.  The domestic travel would increase if you do not reside in the Bay Area.
