Head of Corporate Accounting

Skills:

• Working knowledge of monthly close process / procedures


• Experience with SOX-based or SAS 70 control requirements


• Understanding of consolidation processes and procedures


• Experience with foreign operations / foreign currency issues preferred


• Experience in working with external auditors


• Strong verbal and written communication skills


• Strong data analysis skills/experience


• Management of staff


• Experience with general ledger systems and strong systems skills

Responsibilities:

• Management responsibilities for the corporate accounting team and market data admin/finance function


• Monthly accounting and control responsibilities for management companies including foreign entities


• Lead the monthly close process


• Detailed analysis of the operational results of the firm on a monthly basis


• Lead technical accounting projects (i.e. new accounting pronouncements)


• Assist other departments in accounting matters (i.e. understanding results, assisting in departmental accounting issues)


• Responsibility for the market data admin/finance function


• Lead/assist on various projects

Requirements:

• Undergraduate or graduate major in accounting


• 8+ years accounting experience; financial services experience preferred


• Public accounting experience / CPA required


• Leadership experience in managing and directing finance teams/departments
