The Chief Risk Officer is responsible for the identification, assessment and management of all risks associated with both new business and existing business. This includes responsibility for ensuring that the organization proactively determines which risks it will accept and retain, and hence actively manage. To accomplish this-the Chief Risk Officer is responsible for establishing a framework to express the firm's appetite for risk-and understand the parameters which they are managing as part of the risk reward equation when growing shareholder value.
