The Business Analyst will act as a liaison between Commercial Lines, Programming, and our Research and Development departments. Ideal candidate must possess commercial insurance knowledge with an emphasis on rates, underwriting, technology, and coverage forms. Other essential job duties include:

  • Act as the primary interface between the business unit and IT Development
  • Well versed in state specific laws, making sure the program is up to date on compliance with those laws
  • Determine business needs and write documents to make sure those needs have been met
  • Find legal reasons for cancellation of policies within the first sixty days, mid-term, and so on
  • Ability to write business rules pertaining to Donegal product
  • Ability to learn Donegal's systems by understanding the coverage and the entry fields when developing programs
  • Ability to communicate by answering questions regarding commercial lines
  • Take forms and put them back together with members of the Research and Development team

 Position Requirements


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Minimum five years’ experience
  • Strong underwriting background on both the business and technical side
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • P&C Insurance background
